Paris Street Community Center opens to the public!
Boston Centers for Youth & Families
The Paris Street Community Center is officially open! The center has been an important part of the East Boston community for over a century, and the recently completed renovations integrate into Eastie’s neighborhood-wide effort to upgrade its public spaces. Mayor Marty Walsh has taken a special interest in this project and led the dedication ceremony which was attended by our design team, family friends, and community members.
“For over 100 years this center has been the heart of the community — and now it’s ready to serve East Boston residents for another 100 years. This renovation is a great example of how we’re enhancing our community spaces to meet the changing needs and populations of our residents. I look forward to residents enjoying all the facilities this center has to offer” – Mayor Marty Walsh (Boston.gov).
Boston Centers for Youth & Families members are already putting the renovated facilities to good use enjoying basketball games, the rock climbing wall, a new computer lab, teen center, dance and exercise rooms, and plenty of other spaces for communities to play, learn, and engage.
