Lewis Wharf Condominium Penthouse
Central to a resiliency strategy for the historic waterfront building is the relocation of emergency building systems from the flood-vulnerable basement of Lewis Wharf to the roof of the multi-use structure. An emergency generator, electrical room, and gas booster were arranged to fit within an implied envelope of the existing penthouse. The design of the equipment enclosure, a play of vertical fins and ventilated metal screen controlled ventilation and shielded views of the equipment from neighboring buildings.
