Hangar 10 Flight Headquarters
The principles of sustainable design, a core value shared by the client, airport authority and design team, serve to guide the overall planning and design process. The 40,000 sq. ft. program includes a 23,000 sq. ft. aircraft hangar, office, maintenance and public terminal spaces.
The optimization of natural light and ventilation connects the diverse program functions. Design solutions explore the various relationships, techniques and technologies for maximizing the benefits of daylighting and ventilation. A consistent but variegated architectural language emerges, serving the pragmatic needs of the building, and is derived from the values of all stakeholders. The project is designed for LEED-silver certification.
