Edgartown School
One of the largest buildings on the island, the new $16 million K-8 school building is sited behind existing smaller scale school buildings renovated as part of the project. Together a campus of scale-appropriate buildings was created, featuring a central courtyard space. With input from the community traditional shingle and wood materials were utilized, with primary building components referencing the island’s nautical heritage. This project was completed under-budget, with almost $100,000 in bond authorization returned to the taxpayers.
