New Associates

Catherine Buckley

Catherine’s leadership at FM has contributed significantly to advancing the studio’s culture, commitment to responsible design, and technical proficiency – a balance that she handles with tremendous grace, perhaps a credit to her rich tap dance life outside of FM. As a project team leader skilled in visual design, Catherine’s ability to connect design with client goals has fostered close collaboration with over a dozen clients. Additionally, Catherine is a leader on FM’s Sustainability Committee, a champion for project energy performance tracking, and the head of the “Fun Committee” – promoting our “work hard, play hard” ethos through outings and events.

Jenniece Centrella

Jenniece draws inspiration from her pre-FM days in San Francisco, New York City, and the Netherlands.  Working on a variety of civil and community centered projects, including helping to bridge the literacy gap through a pro-bono learning center project in Senegal. She brings the best of these experiences with her – namely an appreciation for individual voices and a focus on creating space in which diverse stakeholder needs and architects’ project visions can come together – making her an inclusive and versatile project leader. Jenniece is also an engagement leader within the studio, organizing monthly forums that promote project development, and hosting lunchtime DEI chats where studio members can discuss DEI topics of interest.

Sean Gray, AIA, LEED AP

Sean is one of FM’s most versatile team leaders whose experience ranges from childcare spaces, to complex infrastructure and transportation facilities where passenger experience and neighborhood context have been strongly emphasized.  Although the building type – and end-user – may vary, it is the commitment to user-centric design, functionality, accessibility, and human experience that define Sean’s approach. Sean’s leadership and insights in this area have been a valuable resource for FM’s Universal Design Committee which aims to expand the firm’s capabilities to deliver inclusive, sensitive design across all of the studio’s project types.

New Senior Associate

Sean Flanagan, AIA

Sean is a precise and engaging communicator, establishing himself as a natural leader on projects where his illustrative sketches and deliverables articulate the client’s vision and help stakeholders visualize possibilities. This same set of skills has made Sean a leader within the studio as well, where he contributes to FM’s culture of education and mentorship through his leadership role on the Young Professionals (YP) Squad, supporting professional growth for new designers. Through FM’s Toolbox committee, Sean provides technical support and education for the studio, he is especially known for his fun lunchtime presentations on topics ranging from task management to Revit capabilities.

Derek Lariviere

It was a love for comic books, drawing, and the immersive digital worlds of video gaming that led Derek on the path to architecture, where his talent for illustration and love of technology have proven to be a skillful combination. Derek has emerged as a cheerful tech leader at FM, providing guidance and troubleshooting through FM’s Technology Group. As FM’s BIM Manager, and BIM Management Group lead, Derek keeps FM at the forefront of emerging technologies and trends, ensuring that our teams are using the best tools to efficiently support their projects.

Jon Richardson, AIA, LEED AP, CPHC

Archaeology reveals many clues about how humans organize and gather, which provides valuable lessons for architects like Jon who have studied it. Digging deep into humanity’s past has allowed Jon to think multi-dimensionally about design, consequently he is one of FM’s most technically proficient and adaptable project leaders. As a LEED, and Passive House Certified (CPHC) architect, as well as a key member of FM’s Sustainability Committee, Jon is an invaluable resource as one of the studio’s most knowledgeable leaders in environmentally conscious design.
