Honor Award Recipient – Elmira-Corning Regional Airport

 

We are proud to share that the Elmira Corning Regional Airport has received an Honor Award in the AIA New England 2021 Design Awards!

One of the main objectives of the redesign was to improve the often anxiety-inducing experience of navigating airports. Central to the stress-relieving approach we took was the creation of a courtyard that cuts through the center of the airport, making regional flora the defining image of the airport, not a security gate. Additionally, the redesign made gates visible from lounges, further reducing anxiety about missing planes. The transparency of the courtyard and other passenger-oriented upgrades ensures a unique and pleasurable experience for travelers both arriving and departing.
